Light is one of the values that defines ARK Architects, alongside bioarchitecture, design, place, materials, and sustainability. That is why all the buildings under the ARK brand take this value even further, giving it a prominence worthy of admiration.

TAI reflects this value in all its splendor, a project in which light is a material element, as defined by Manuel Ruiz Moriche, co-founder and creative director of ARK Architects.

“It is another material with which we are sculpting and creating the project, as if light were just another material in our palette”.

TAI is a project in which, through the atrium, a sequence of light nuances is created, ranging from shadow to absolute light on the outside, through the filters and the large box of light that is the atrium, generating this sequence and these different atmospheres characteristic of Eastern architecture.

For Manuel Ruiz, in TAI, light is the central theme of the project, as its entire atmosphere revolves around it. The filters help to gradate and diffuse the light from inside to outside, creating a difference in nuances and sequences.

“There is a simile that I really like, which comes to mind when I think about the importance of light in architecture, and it is that light is like the conductor of an orchestra, with the instruments being the materials.”

Light sets the rhythm of the melody, tuning each material and giving it its connotation, where the materials are tempered and transformed.

“That’s why, for me, light is almost like the conductor of an orchestra who tunes, tones, and places everything in its right place, creating that magic in the sequence of notes generated by each material, seeing how they react to the light and making a project vibrate and become absolutely magical”, Manuel Ruiz Moriche.
